Haifaa Bitar – Clinical Psychologist, Psychotherapist, and Psychoanalyst.
Helping individuals of all ages navigate trauma, anxiety, depression, and OCD through psychoanalysis.

About Me
With over 13 years of experience and more than 12,000 hours of clinical work in psychology and psychoanalysis, I accompany individuals through a transformative process of self-discovery. My work is grounded in psychoanalytic practice, which takes into account the unconscious dimensions of suffering—those that escape simple explanation yet shape the most intimate aspects of our lives.
I believe each person carries a singular story, marked by early experiences, language, and desire. In the analytic space, you are invited to speak freely, without censorship or judgement, in order to explore what lies beneath the surface of symptoms, repetition, and emotional pain. This work does not seek to normalize, but to listen—to what insists, returns, and demands to be heard.
Beyond The Clinic
Alongside my clinical practice, I have also been dedicated to the transmission of psychoanalytic thought. In 2017 and 2018, I translated conferences on Lacanian psychoanalysis from French to Arabic, allowing these ideas to reach a wider audience. More recently, in the summer of 2024, I translated the book The Letter, Time and Object by Lela Chikhani, a project that reflects my deep engagement with language as both a tool and a terrain of the unconscious.
My Approach
Guided by the psychoanalytic framework, I work to uncover what is hidden in speech: the unconscious formations that influence how we relate, love, suffer, and desire. I do not offer solutions—but rather, a space for truth to emerge in its own time and logic.
Through this work, individuals may come to address trauma, anxiety, depression, obsessive thoughts, or relational difficulties—not only by alleviating symptoms, but by accessing a deeper understanding of who they are and what moves them.

In-Person Psychoanalytic Session
In the quiet of the consulting room, face-to-face sessions offer a quiet space where speech can take shape and deeper layers of suffering can be explored. Beyond “talk therapy,” this is an encounter with yourself—through language, silence, and the unsaid—where symptoms begin to shift and meaning can emerge.

What Is Psychoanalysis?
"To enter psychoanalysis is to dare to know oneself—and to be forever changed by what one finds."
Psychoanalysis is not simply a form of therapy, it is an encounter with the deepest layers of the human psyche. Beneath what we believe we know about ourselves lies an unconscious structured by language, where forgotten memories, early desires, and unspoken truths continue to shape our way of being.
In the psychoanalytic space, every word, silence, slip, and hesitation becomes a clue. Through this unique experience of speaking freely, one begins to trace the logic of one’s suffering—repetitions that return, not by choice, but as expressions of something unresolved and unknown.
Psychoanalysis does not offer quick solutions. It offers something far more profound: the possibility of transformation through truth. It is a path toward discovering the desire that animates you, beyond roles, symptoms, and appearances. Read More
